Unlike most barstools, the seats are very comfortable and are made of molded plywood with a high quality wood veneer with a lovely grain - very mid-century modern style, like an Eames chair. They are extremely comfortable and very sturdy. The legs are heavy-guage crome-plated steel with a cross-bar to support your feet.
From the CB2 ad: "Random bands engineered into a walnut veneer, outlined with exposed natural plywood layers at the edge. Formfitting bentwood has a modern cinch at the waist, slight waterfall at the knee, chrome plated gleam to the floor."
I looked far and wide in BCS for some nice contemporary-style barstools and believe me, you will not find any down here that rival these.
I paid the retail price of $119.00 plus CA sales tax for these and then another $40 each to get them down here so I am selling them for what I paid: US$160 each. I assembled one and the other three are brand-new in their original boxes.
